What exactly is a practitioner and what do they do?
At The Creative Thought Center in Waynesville, NC, we have a growing staff of licensed practitioners that can know the truth of prosperity for you in any area of your life. Spiritual Mind Treatment is a very focused scientific way of praying and works every time when people are open and ready to allow Spirit to work in their lives. Our staff of licensed practitioners have spent many years in training to be qualified practitioners and many more years in doing the inner spiritual work to make them the most effective practitioners they can be. Each one of them do this work from a place of love and joy that expresses their desire to be of service to their clients.
On Sundays after our 11am celebration service Practitioners offer as a gift, a brief treatment/prayer session to anyone so guided. Please know however, that if you choose to make an appointment for a longer session with a Practitioner during the week, a charge for their time may be specified.
Right now we have 4 licensed practitioners listed below that are looking forward to serving you. Feel free to call or email one of these practitioners to discuss with them how they might impact your prosperity and abundance in any area of your life.

I grew up in a metaphysical teaching call Unity. I've tried other churches; Methodist, Presbyterian, Spiritualist and Christian Science -- but I always returned to Unity. Then I found Science of Mind and found a new spiritual home.
Some of my jobs were: waitress, store clerk, ballroom dancing instructor, English teacher, Art teacher and Media Aide in a Middle School Media Center.
I feel that I have grown a lot since I found Science of Mind and having taken 10 accredited Science of Mind classes and the Practitioner training, I am always looking forward to continous growth. I love being a practitioner because it's fascinating to watch how Spirit works through all the aspects of a client's life to bring about the right answer to a treatment.

I have been on my spiritual path on a conscious level for over 25 years. Before that, most everything I did from seeking answers to questions about why I was here at this time - to "Is this all there is?" - to all the books I read in my early 30s, (i.e., "I'm OK, You're OK", "Co-Dependent No More"), were leading and preparing me for my next step.
After my marriage of almost 25 years ended, I was introduced to Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay and many other metaphysical teachers. I was hooked! I then became involved in a divorce support group that led me to Adult Children of Alcoholics, then to Unity Church of Practical Christianity and finally to Science of Mind and
Almost immediately after moving to Western North Carolina in 2000, my husband, Frank, and I began looking for a new spiritual home. In January of 2001 we found The Creative Thought Center. Very soon I started taking classes in Science of Mind and continued my studies in Religious Science International accredited classes for 4 years. In between ministers at the CTC, I participated in classes at the Center For Creative Living in Asheville, NC. I also continued reading and taking more advanced classes in Science of Mind including The Mystics, Emerson's Essays and more.
In 2007, I began my practitioner training with Rev. Sonja Contois, an independent Science of Mind minister and teacher. Shortly after being licensed with her in May of 2008, I became one of four licensed practitioners at The Creative Thought Center.
Being an active practitioner is one of the greatest joys in my life today. I love being of service to my brothers and sisters in spirit in whatever capacity they desire. Being a practitioner is a deeply personal practice - one that I take very seriously.

At the time of this writing, I am a relatively new practitioner at The Creative Thought Center, having been certified and licensed in 2008. Ernest Holmes, however, tells us we are all practitioners. With that thought in mind I easily bring myself back to the day and moment ten years ago when I recognized that this is so.
Mother had been ill for a long time and I had long ago left my job as dispatcher/administrator in the small construction company I had worked at for seven years. As my beautiful mother's needs grew, so too had my abilities to provide. Whatever free time I still had was distributed among the remainder of my family and God. Or maybe that should be said the other way around. I had early on recognized this new opportunity for me could not be met without Divine support. It is understood in feminine circles that women often transition from one role to the next during periods of deep change and the celebration of maiden to mother to crone (wise woman, seer) often comes during these trying times. Having studied New Thought privately since my early twenties I now threw myself into the words of Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and Neale Donald Walsch. With the wisdom of my invisible brothers, and the gentle strength of Spirit, I helped mother transcend from this world into the next and when we were done, I asked God, "What next?"
The answer came immediately as I recognized that the studying and remembering I had been doing was the foundation of the rest of my life. Together with my husband, I packed our belongings and moved six hundred miles north to Waynesville, NC, land of our dreams, Spirit had answered me. To all who wondered, wide-eyed and incredulous, "...but how will you do this?" I answered that I did not know, but I was pretty sure God did. And He did. Gathering up the legacy of my parents life, my 48 year old baby sister, whose physical experience consists of downs syndrome, heart failure, COPD, pneumonia, diabetes and the ability to love unconditionally - we embraced retirement in the mountains.
I continue my path, now as a practitioner, with my husband who is my biggest helpmate at my side, and my passion proceeds me. It is my desire to reawaken the memory of our God Self in everyone I meet. I claim it and it is done.

Rev. Frank Kish, CTC Licensed Practitioner
Although I am an ordained Science of Mind minister, I shall always see myself as a practitioner first and foremost because regardless of my title, I am always doing practitioner work. This "work" I really consider as natural to me as breathing. When I connect with a client and see clearly the Truth of who they are and the power they have within them, I am connecting with myself and it causes me to expand with the Universe.
I have consciously been on my spiritual journey now for over 20 years. Although I was raised in a Methodist family, I was never really connected consciously to the teaching there.
I discovered Unity and metaphysics in 1989 and I started growing spiritually with a ravenous appetite for everything I could read and experience in metaphysics. Having read Science of Mind magazines for years, my wife, Margaret and I connected with this Science of Mind & Spirit community here at The Creative Thought Centerin 2001. I have been an active leader/board member for most of the years since. I completed my practitioner training with Revs. John & Barbara Waterhouse at the Center For Creative Living in Asheville, NC in May of 2006. I did my ministerial studies with and was ordained by Rev. Khatia Krebs who sat at the knee of Ernest Holmes in her childhood. Rev. Khatia embodies the teaching of Ernest Holmes, comes from her heart, and promotes an "open at top" approach to spiritual living. I consider her my living Spirit guide. I have been the minister at The Creative Thought Center since July, 2007.
My spiritual family is my passion and I absolutely love being of service in my capacity as a Science of Mind & Spirit practitioner. I welcome YOU into my life!
