Steven Craig Dean is a Kriya Yoga Meditation Practitioner who has studied Spiritual Teachings and Practices for over 35 years.  Kriya Yoga is the practice of restoring soul awareness to wholeness.  Its simple methods of meditation help clear and focus the mind and calm the emotions.  Anyone, of any faith, can use these techniques to enliven the body and deepen their spiritual life. 

 

Steve will present An Introduction to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. These ancient Sutras were written in India over 2,000 years ago, a compilation of older oral traditions also thousands of years old.  With an illumined and incisive mind, the sage Patanjali described the concise teachings and practices of yoga for the benefit of others seeking enlightenment. The individual points in each chapter are written in short verses or sutras (threads), making them easy for students to remember.

 

Steve is affiliated with the Center for Spiritual Awareness (CSA). The Director of CSA is Roy Eugene Davis, who is a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda (the author of Autobiography of a Yogi).
